Abstract

This research investigates the association between online class-related boredom, school motivation, and academic achievement among Chinese college students. Findings reveal a negative correlation between online class-related boredom and academic achievement. Intrinsic school motivation mediates this relationship, while extrinsic motivation also plays a role. Gender moderates the mediating effect of school motivation, with different impacts on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in male and female students. The study highlights the importance of addressing negative emotions and school motivation in online classrooms to improve teaching practices.
