Abstract
This study explores factors influencing e-learning use by students in private Nigerian HEIs using the Technology-Organisation-Environment (TOE) framework. Through semi-structured interviews with 15 students from L-University, the study reveals that technology-related factors (ease of use, accessibility, speed, service delivery), organisation-related factors (training, diversity of applications), environment-related factors (user attitudes), and impact-related factors (learning experience, skill development, academic performance, engagement) all influence e-learning adoption. An extended TOE framework incorporating impact context is proposed, suggesting techniques to accelerate e-learning development in private HEIs.
