✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to African writers residing in African countries or in the diaspora.
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.

✏️ Submission Guidelines

  • Number of Submissions: Maximum of two submissions per genre (poetry, short story, and essays/hybrid narratives).
  • Themes: Submissions must critically explore themes such as poverty, hunger, injustice, climate change, corruption, pandemics, war, and violence in Africa.
  • Length and Size:
    • Poetry: Maximum of 40 lines per submission.
    • Short Story: Maximum of 4 pages.
    • Essays: Maximum of 4 pages.

  • Formatting:
    • Use 12-point Times New Roman font.
    • Submit entries as Word document attachments.
  • Submission Details:
    • Include the title, genre, and author's name in the subject line and on every page.
    • Attach a 15-line bio and a headshot photo.
