๐Ÿ† Benefits of Tata Transformation Prize

  • Monetary Award:
    Each winner in the three categories will receive INR 2 crores (approximately US$230,000). Funds will be disbursed directly by Tata Sons after the conclusion of the Prize events in December 2025.

  • Lifetime Membership:
    Winners will receive a lifetime membership to the New York Academy of Sciences, granting access to:

    • Global Member Directory
    • A deep archive of digital content
    • Free or significantly discounted registrations for over 100 in-person and virtual symposia, webinars, and conferences annually

โœ… Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a doctoral degree (PhD, DPhil, MD, DDS, DVM, etc.).
  • At the time of application, hold a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher, Faculty, or Researcher/Scientist with at least 50% full-time effort devoted to research at an eligible institution in India.
  • Be a resident of India or a person of Indian origin residing in India.
  • Obtain pre-approval from their institution via an Eligibility Verification Form.

Additional Notes:

  • Applicants may only submit one application per annual Prize cycle.
  • Applicants must be employed by an eligible university, institute, or research organization in India.
  • Institutions not listed as eligible may contact TataTransformation@nyas.org to request inclusion.

  • Name, title, and contact information for the institutional leadership submitting the Eligibility Verification Form.

CV Submission:

  • Applicants must use the CV template provided here.
  • Save the CV as a PDF before uploading it to the application portal.

CV Must Include:

  1. Applicant name, current institution(s), and position title.
  2. Education and training details (undergraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral).
  3. Employment history and dates.
  4. Honors and awards (granting organizations and years received).
  5. Peer-reviewed publications (separate sections for primary research and reviews/commentaries).
  6. Patents and patent applications (title, number, synopsis, and year).
  7. Research support (funding details, including agency, grant title, and applicantโ€™s role).
  8. Scientific leadership roles (editorial responsibilities, committees, outreach, etc.).
  9. Invited talks and lectures (year and inviting organization).
