This work constructs a cell-free hydrogel scaffold for cartilage regeneration using a polyaddition reaction with tannic acid and Kartogenin. The hydrogel demonstrates ultra-durable mechanical properties, stage-dependent drug release, fast shape memory, and the ability to alleviate inflammation and regulate oxidative stress. Sequential release of the drugs promotes bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell migration and chondrocyte differentiation, leading to full-thickness cartilage regeneration in vivo.
