This study examines the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between job stressors and job strain among Chinese government employees. Data from 505 employees in Hangzhou, China, were analyzed using Mplus. Results indicated that job satisfaction fully mediated the effects of relationships and recognition, and partially mediated the effect of home-work balance on job strain. Implications for improving job satisfaction and reducing job stress-related health issues are discussed.
