Abstract
This paper reviews the impact of COVID-19 on hemodialysis patients in Japan, focusing on treatment options and vaccine efficacy. Hemodialysis patients are at higher risk of severe COVID-19 due to limited isolation capabilities in dialysis facilities. The paper examines infection rates, mortality, and the effectiveness of vaccines, highlighting the need for preventative measures and appropriate antiviral treatments like remdesivir, molnupiravir, and others while acknowledging limitations in treatment options due to renal dysfunction. The study emphasizes the importance of vaccination and continued efforts to prevent infection spread.
