This paper projects sub-national economic damages from climate change using empirical findings from over 1600 regions worldwide. It finds a committed income reduction of 19% (likely range 11-29%) within 26 years, irrespective of future emissions. These damages already surpass mitigation costs sixfold, highlighting the urgency of action.
