Abstract
Parliamentary debates are crucial for policymaking and responding to events like the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change. This study combines theories on vote-seeking strategies and the impact of personal characteristics of politicians, hypothesizing that younger Members of Parliament (MPs) will emphasize climate change more than older MPs. Analyzing German Bundestag debates (2013-2021), the study finds that younger MPs contribute more speeches on climate policy, supporting the hypothesis.
