Abstract
This manuscript introduces Response-Item Network (ResIN), a novel methodological approach advancing Belief Network Analysis (BNA). ResIN detects attitude asymmetries between groups and incorporates a spatial component linked to Item Response Theory (IRT). Its effectiveness is validated using simulated and real data, demonstrating its utility in analyzing complex attitude systems, particularly in distinguishing between groups with asymmetrical attitudes, such as Democrats and Republicans in the US political context.
