Abstract
This 10-year follow-up study of a first-episode psychosis (FEP) cohort investigated clinical recovery (CR) and treatment resistance (TR). At 10 years, 29% were in CR, 31% were TR, and 40% were in partial recovery. Insidious onset and baseline disorganized symptoms predicted TR, while acute onset, good premorbid academic adjustment, and non-schizophrenia diagnosis predicted CR. The study highlights the importance of early-course parameters in predicting long-term outcomes and the need for adequate treatment.
