This study investigated genetic overlaps at the gene level between seven mental disorders, eight brain morphometric traits, two cognitive traits, and nine personality traits using publicly available GWAS data. Conditional regression analyses identified 48 genes with independent markers associated with multiple traits (pleiotropy at the gene level) and nine genes with different markers independently associated with single traits (allelic heterogeneity). These findings demonstrate pleiotropy at both the gene and single-marker levels and suggest that these genes could be prioritized for further functional studies and drug targeting.
