Effects of surgical masks on aerosol dispersion in professional singing
S. Kniesburges, P. Schlegel, et al.
This study by Stefan Kniesburges and colleagues reveals that surgical masks can significantly reduce aerosol and droplet dispersion during professional singing. Singers performing Beethoven's Ode to Joy showed that masks kept harmful aerosols close to the performer, while droplet release decreased by up to 86%.
