Abstract
This observational study examined hand sanitizer use frequency and amount among Canadian adults and children during the COVID-19 pandemic. An online survey revealed high usage rates, reaching 25 times per day in children and over 9 times per day in adults. Significant differences existed between children's hand sanitizer use at home versus school/childcare settings. This research is the first known to examine hand sanitizer use among children in school settings during the pandemic, highlighting the need to consider non-home environments when assessing consumer product usage patterns and potential chemical exposure.
