Abstract
This qualitative study examined the role of a closed Facebook group (CFG) in providing social support for Mexican perinatal women during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thematic analysis of CFG posts revealed nine categories of concerns: COVID-19 infections, fear of infection, infection prevention, health services, vaccines, non-COVID-19 health concerns, social isolation effects, probable mental health issues, and work outside the home. The CFG provided a supportive forum for sharing concerns and obtaining information, highlighting the potential of social media in improving perinatal healthcare.
