Abstract
Investigation of neural circuit dynamics is crucial for understanding brain function and dysfunction. Current in vitro 3D neural circuit models lack integrated technologies for precise monitoring and modulation of neural activity. This paper presents a 3D high-density multifunctional microelectrode array (MEA) with optical stimulation and drug delivery capabilities. The MEA allows precise measurement of synaptic latencies in 3D neural networks and opens opportunities for in vitro studies of neural circuits using 3D brain models.
