Opportunity Overview

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is accepting applications for its Ghana Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Programme 2026. This one-year fellowship is designed to empower young, innovative change-makers who are recent graduates from tertiary institutions and are positively impacting communities in Ghana.

โœ… Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the programme, applicants must:

  • Be aged between 18 - 30 years and resident in Ghana
  • Hold qualifications from accredited tertiary institutions
  • Be able to fully commit to the one-year programme, on-site at:
    • UNFPA Ghana Country Office
    • University of Ghana Digital Youth Village and Centre for Digital Youth Development, Legon, Accra
  • Be proactive and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Be proficient in English (working knowledge required)
  • Be passionate about:
    • Leadership
    • Sustainable Development
    • Peace and Security
    • Human Rights
  • Demonstrate a drive for change in sectors such as:
    • Social entrepreneurship
    • Agribusiness
    • Innovation
    • Artificial intelligence
    • Community development
    • Volunteerism
  • Show interest and dedication to development issues and contribute towards Ghana's 2030 Agenda
  • Demonstrate affiliation with:
    • Youth-led organizations/networks
    • NGOs/CSOs
    • Community volunteerism
    • Youth development projects by government agencies related to UN and UNFPAโ€™s mandate

Required Documents:

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. Motivation Letter (not more than 500 words) explaining:
    • Your motivation for applying for the fellowship
    • Your professional goals
    • What you hope to achieve by participating in the programme
  2. C.V./Resume
  3. Proof of Identity (Ghana Card, Valid Passport, or Birth Certificate)
  4. Evidence of Health Insurance (National Health Insurance is acceptable)
