📖 About Rotary International Peace Fellowship

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for leaders with work experience in peace and development. Fellows are committed to community and international service and the pursuit of peace. Each year, The Rotary Foundation awards:

  • Up to 50 fellowships for master’s degrees
  • Up to 120 fellowships for certificate studies at premier universities

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Master’s Degree Candidates

Candidates must have:

  • Potential for leadership
  • At least three years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work

Certificate Candidates

Candidates must:

  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Be able to explain how their plan to promote peace aligns with Rotary’s mission
  • Have at least five years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work

Regional Requirements for Certificate Candidates

  • Makerere University: Candidates should either be from Africa, have worked in Africa, work with African communities or initiatives outside the continent, or demonstrate a compelling interest in learning about peacebuilding approaches within the region.
  • Bahçeşehir University: Candidates should either be from the Middle East or North Africa, have worked in the region, work elsewhere around the world with communities or initiatives related to the Middle East or North Africa, or demonstrate a compelling interest in learning about peacebuilding approaches within the region.
  • Symbiosis International University: Candidates should either be from the Asia region, have worked in the region, work elsewhere around the world with communities or initiatives related to the Asia region. Alternatively, candidates from outside the region are welcome if they can articulate a strong and genuine interest in studying the peacebuilding methodologies specific to Asia.

General Requirements for Both Master’s and Certificate Programs

Candidates must:

  • Be proficient in English
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree
  • Show a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace through professional and academic achievements, as well as personal or community service
  • Have at least three years between the completion of their most recent academic degree program (undergraduate or graduate degree) and their intended start date for the fellowship
  • Wait three years between the end date of a previous Rotary program (certificate program, master’s degree program, or Global Grant Scholarship) and their intended start date for the fellowship, if applicable

  • Ineligible Candidates: Active Rotary members, employees of a Rotary club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entities.
  • Eligible Candidates: Rotaract club members who are not also Rotary club members.
