📖 About the Fulbright Student Award

The Fulbright Program is a merit-based competition designed for Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) who wish to pursue graduate studies in the United States.

This grant supports:

  • A one-year master’s degree, or
  • The first year of a longer master’s program.

Additionally, limited partial grants are available.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

These grants are intended for individuals pursuing a one-year master’s degree program or the first year of study for a master’s program. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: Must be Singaporean citizens or Singaporean permanent residents.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrated exceptional promise and involvement in community outreach.
  • Motivation: Evidence of commitment to graduate study.
  • Academic Excellence: Outstanding academic records and preparation in the chosen field.
  • English Proficiency: High level of verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Health: Good health is required. While no written report is needed during application, candidates must submit a health report and obtain medical clearance before becoming grantees.
  • Age Preference: Applicants between 25–35 years of age at the time of application are preferred.
  • U.S. Experience: Preference is given to those with little or no experience in the United States.

Ineligible Candidates

The following individuals are not eligible for the Fulbright grant:

  • Those currently studying, researching, or lecturing at American universities.
  • Those intending to pursue an internship, residency, or research at a U.S. school of medicine or dentistry.
  • Individuals currently living or working in the United States, or those with extensive recent experience in the United States.
