The linkage between chronotype, social jetlag, and responses to sleep inertia

Researchers Fan-Chi Hsiao, Yi-Chen Wang, Ethan Reiter, and Changwei W. Wu investigated links among chronotype, sleep inertia (SI), and social jetlag (SJL) in 231 participants using MEQ, MCTQ, and SIQ questionnaires. They found eveningness associated with greater SJL and behavioral responses indicative of SI, but little correlation between SJL and overall SI; SJL only partially mediated chronotype and behavioral SI responses when controlling for sex.
