Abstract
This study investigated the impact of acute lifestyle changes during the COVID-19 lockdown on Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) progression in 187 Italian patients over four years. Lockdown led to increased fat and carbohydrate intake, reduced physical activity, and worsened metabolic parameters. Body composition showed increased fat mass and decreased lean mass. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) incidence significantly increased during lockdown, with a stronger association between HCC and body composition changes than other metabolic factors.
