Abstract
This multicenter longitudinal study investigated the effects of COVID-19-related quarantine on psychological outcomes in 73 cardiac patients post-intervention, comparing them to 76 controls. The quarantine group showed significantly higher depressive, anxiety, and insomnia symptoms at reassessment (eight months post-intervention) than the control group. A higher percentage of patients in the quarantine group exhibited clinically relevant depression. The study highlights the negative impact of quarantine on mental health in this vulnerable population and emphasizes the need for enhanced mental health support.
