This study investigates the relationship between social media use and social integration among elderly migrants in China, focusing on the mediating roles of perceived social support and psychological resilience. Using a cross-sectional online survey (N=1001), the researchers found that understanding and orientation, not entertainment, are primary motivations for social media use among trailing parents. Active social media engagement positively influenced social integration, primarily through perceived social support, with partial mediation from psychological resilience. Findings inform the design of older migrant-friendly social media apps and community efforts to enhance social integration.
