This study uses interrupted time series analyses to assess the impact of the WHO Framework Convention for Tobacco Control (FCTC) on smoking rates in 170 countries (excluding China). The analysis focuses on smokers under 25 and those aged 45-59. Results show significant decreases in the number and prevalence of smokers under 25 and an increase in the quit ratio among those aged 45-59 after FCTC ratification. Countries with significant tax increases showed even greater reductions.
