Abstract
This study assesses the effectiveness of the Self-Help Group-Bank Linkage Program (SBLP) in promoting financial inclusion and social cohesion in Central Assam, India. Using data from a field survey of 335 participants and 490 non-participants, propensity score matching was used to analyze the impact of SBLP participation. Results indicate that SBLP involvement significantly improves financial inclusion but does not enhance social cohesion, suggesting that while financial access is improved, broader societal integration remains a challenge.
