Abstract

This paper explores the feasibility of producing green hydrogen from offshore wind power in China and supplying it to Japan. It analyzes the costs associated with production, storage, conversion (to liquid hydrogen, methylcyclohexane (MCH), or ammonia), transport, and processing in Japan. The study concludes that this Chinese source could provide a cost-competitive volume of hydrogen meeting Japan's projected future needs.
