Abstract
This mixed-methods study investigates Spanish primary and secondary social science teachers' perceived training needs. A questionnaire (332 teachers) revealed that teachers prioritized training in historical thinking, active learning methods, and ICT resources. Interviews (12 teachers) corroborated these findings, highlighting the need for competency-based education and learner-centered approaches. Teachers emphasized the importance of updating disciplinary knowledge through scientific journals and expressed a preference for practical training such as workshops and innovation projects.
