Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of Isha Yoga in improving mental health outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. An online survey of 1352 Isha Yoga practitioners and 110 non-practitioners in Karnataka, India, assessed stress, mental distress, well-being, and affective balance. Results showed significantly lower stress and mental distress, and significantly higher well-being and affective balance in Isha Yoga practitioners compared to controls. A dose-response relationship was observed, with regular practice (≥3-4 days/week) showing the most significant benefits. Healthcare workers practicing Isha Yoga also reported better mental health outcomes.
