Abstract
This study investigated the effects of neohesperidin (NHP), a flavonoid rich in Quzhou Fructus Aurantii, on hepatic steatosis and insulin resistance in high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mice. Results showed that NHP improved liver function, inhibited hepatic lipid accumulation, relieved hepatic inflammation and oxidative stress, suppressed fatty acid synthesis, and promoted fatty acid oxidation. Mechanistically, NHP increased hepatic mitochondrial biogenesis and PGC-1α expression via AMPK activation.
