Abstract
This mixed-methods study investigates the impact of a student-centered Final Year Project (FYP) allocation mechanism on student performance. The research aimed to determine if aligning FYP choices with student interests improved motivation, academic performance, and resilience, particularly in navigating unexpected contextual factors. Findings supported the hypotheses, showing improvements in academic performance, pass rates, and completion rates. The study contributes to resilience theory by exploring student adaptability to contextual changes. Recommendations for creating a dynamic student-centered learning environment are provided, along with suggestions for future research.
