This study examines the influence of managerial competence on the performance of branch and operational managers in the Ghanaian banking sector. Using a quantitative approach and cross-sectional survey method, data from 127 managers across Ghana were analyzed with partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The study found a significant relationship between various managerial competencies (customer value management, interpersonal, leadership, intrapersonal, and technical) and managerial performance. Customer value management competence emerged as the most significant predictor.
