Abstract
This paper evaluates the sustainable living practices of residents in The Self-Sustaining Village (SSV), a Danish eco-community, through a questionnaire survey measuring their carbon footprint and life satisfaction. Results reveal that residents have a 60% lower carbon footprint than the national average and higher life satisfaction. This is attributed to specific physical and social infrastructures that make sustainable choices the default, without requiring individual sacrifices.
