Abstract
This research presents a novel approach that integrates digital pathology and mathematical modeling to optimize the timing of on-treatment biopsies in cancer immunotherapy clinical trials. Using digitized biopsies from a clinical trial of Simlukafusp, an immunomodulatory molecule, the researchers developed and validated an agent-based model that accurately predicts the spatial dynamics of immune cells. The model's predictive capabilities extend to designing phase 1-2 study protocols, conceiving combination therapies, and personalizing healthcare.
