This study examines how social determinants of health (SDH) influence the quality of life (QoL) of individuals aged 50 and older in Europe, comparing men and women. A longitudinal analysis using data from the SHARE study (waves 5, 6, and 7) revealed that female sex, advanced age, economic hardship, lower education, and geographic location were associated with poorer QoL. Depression in Southern Europe also negatively impacted QoL in both sexes.
