This article explores Tyrion Lannister’s rule in King’s Landing in *A Clash of Kings*, the second volume of George R.R. Martin’s *A Song of Ice and Fire*. Tyrion’s rule, despite its positive reception in both the books and the *Game of Thrones* TV series, is analyzed through Foucault’s concept of monstrosity in power. The analysis argues that while Tyrion’s morality initially limits the scope of his monstrous methods, ultimately this restraint contributes to his fall from power.
