Abstract
This paper proposes an online, customizable, AI-driven subtitling course that emphasizes the humanistic aspects of translation. Using questionnaires and case studies (Douyin, and two MOOCs: Working with Translation: Theories and Practice and Consecutive Interpreting), the research explores audience behavior and attitudes toward subtitles to inform course design. The resulting course integrates AI technologies while prioritizing the human element of translation, aiming to enhance student employability and future research in translation and interpreting studies.
