This paper explores how humour is created and reconstructed in the new media era, focusing on the short video platform Little Red Book and the online teaching platform Rain Classroom in China. It uses linguistic and semiotic analysis of humorous discourses and emojis to show how humour is strengthened through diverse semiotic possibilities, leading to entertaining and educational outcomes.
