Abstract
This exploratory study investigates the translation quality assessment (TQA) practices of 98 faculty members from translation departments in Arab universities. Using adapted instruments (Approaches to Classroom Assessment Inventory and a new Translation Quality Assessment Practices Inventory), the study reveals that participants highly endorsed both general assessment (GA) and TQA practices. Three key TQA themes emerged: error significance, assessment methods, and objectivity. The study highlights a need for improved TQA training for translation faculty to enhance translation education and curriculum design.
