Abstract
Alzheimer's disease (AD), a leading cause of dementia, is characterized by impaired memory, cognitive deficits, and behavioral abnormalities due to amyloid beta plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. This review explores honey's potential as a nootropic agent to prevent and treat AD, focusing on its flavonoid and phenolic acid content and their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. The review summarizes the effects of honey's components on the central nervous system and its impact on memory and cognition in animal models, providing insights into honey's potential for AD prevention and damage amelioration.
