Abstract
This paper examines the spread of the ecovillage sustainability model in Denmark through two avenues: the creation of new eco-communities supported by municipalities or professional builders, and the integration of ecovillage principles into mainstream green neighbourhoods. While these approaches may result in less dramatic carbon footprint reductions than traditional ecovillages, they offer faster, more inclusive pathways to widespread sustainability change.
