Abstract
This article explores how Thai fans engage with fan text on Twitter and how fandom relates to identity construction among Thai online media users. Analysis of 100 fan tweets reveals five types: hypothetical interpretation, fan art, narratives, opinion expressions, and parodies. The study also examines fans' shared lexicon ('fan talk') and how fans position themselves in relation to source texts, noting the humorous and transcultural elements, particularly the 'Thai-ifize' method used in creating fan tweets.
