Abstract

This study analyzes Turkish Twitter users' sentiments and future expectations regarding the Metaverse, focusing on a week of tweets (January 10-17, 2022) following a televised discussion. Sentiment analysis of 10,437 tweets revealed a mix of curiosity, anger, helplessness, dissatisfaction, worry, and fear. The findings suggest anticipation of increased technological investment, new markets, ethical concerns, societal unpreparedness, and potential media addiction.
