Abstract

This study investigates the contradiction between pandemic prevention policies and emotional needs during the Spring Festival, focusing on the 'local new year' policy. It explores the driving factors behind people's willingness to support this policy, particularly among migrant workers in large cities. Using a Logit model and maximum-likelihood estimation, the study identifies 'whether social and entertainment activities are planned in migrant cities' as the primary driving factor, followed by 'whether there are relatives (elderly/children) at home', and 'contracting the infection during travel'. The study concludes with policy suggestions advocating for enriching people's emotional needs and adopting flexible measures based on regional pandemic situations.
