Abstract
This paper assesses COVID-19 as an underlying cause of death in children and young people (0-19 years) in the US. The supplementary tables detail leading causes of death by age group (0-28 days, 28-365 days, 1-4 years, 5-9 years, 10-14 years, and 15-19 years) from 2019 and COVID-19 deaths (August 1, 2021-July 31, 2022). COVID-19 is consistently found among the top 10 leading causes of death across all age groups.
