This study explored factors influencing outcomes of a novel virtual reality therapy (3MDR) for military veterans with PTSD using a mixed-methods approach. Three outcome typologies were identified: dramatic, moderate, and minimal improvement. Analysis revealed associations between outcomes and factors within the person (mobility, commitment to therapy), intervention (image selection, therapeutic alliance), and context (reactions to the therapy environment) domains. The findings highlight the complex interplay of these factors and suggest avenues for personalizing 3MDR.
