This qualitative study explores the resilience development of two Chinese secondary school English teacher-researchers. Data from interviews and case documents revealed two resilience development patterns: low-to-high and W-shaped recovery. Individual and environmental factors, and their interactions, contributed to resilience development. Classroom research provided diverse ways to sustain resilience, offering implications for teacher development in similar contexts.
