Abstract
This study explores the relationship between assessment systems and deep learning in multidisciplinary engineering education. A conceptual model was proposed and tested using a questionnaire administered to 243 QUT engineering students. Data analysis using SPSS and SEM revealed that deep learning is strongly associated with learning environment and course design. Both summative and formative assessments significantly influenced learning, suggesting that employing both assessment types simultaneously enhances the learning process.
