Abstract
This study investigated variations in HIV risk behaviors among men in Southern Africa using data from six countries' Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS). Multivariate logistic regression models were used to analyze the association between education and other factors (age, residence, marital status, wealth) and HIV risk behaviors: condom use, multiple sexual partnerships, and HIV testing. Findings revealed high rates of risky sexual behavior, with significant country variations in the influence of individual factors on these behaviors. Education was associated with increased condom use only in Zambia and Mozambique, while delayed sexual debut reduced multiple partnerships. The study highlights the need for strengthened comprehensive sexuality education and targeted interventions to address regional HIV prevalence.
