This multi-country study assessed the resilience of community health workers (CHW) in HIV care centers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using an online questionnaire with resilience, depression, and anxiety scales, the study found that most CHWs (76%) exhibited normal or high resilience. Factors associated with low resilience included living in urban areas, not acquiring new professional skills during the pandemic, inability to separate from loved ones for protection, and experiencing COVID-19-related discrimination. The study highlights the resilience of the HIV community-based system and emphasizes the need for training and support to enhance CHW well-being.
