This study investigates the factors influencing employee work engagement during enterprise digital transformation. Using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) and data from 225 employees, three pathways promoting work engagement are identified: openness to experience/conscientiousness/extraversion-driven, self-efficacy-driven, and inhibition of technostress creators. Low work engagement is linked to inhibited agreeableness and extraversion. The study enriches understanding of work engagement in the context of digital transformation.
